Kismet Olfactive Nostalgia Eau De Parfum

Crafted as an ode to Grasse, a picturesque village nestled in the French Alps and a place of study for Kismet-founder Shabnam Tavakol.

Nostalgia presents a poetic and structured composition of 14 carefully selected raw materials, mirroring the traditional 14-line sonnet form.

The first stanza of Nostalgia is influenced by alluring suede, saffron, and leather scents, reminiscent of Grasse's historical role as a center for tanning in the Middle Ages.

The heart notes feature Rose de mai and nagarmotha, paying homage to Grasse's ascent as the global hub for perfumery in the 18th century, surrounded by flower fields and the Mediterranean Sea.

The finale of Nostalgia reveals an anisic aroma, drawing inspiration from Pastis, a complex herbal aperitif that Shabnam grew fond of during her time at Grasse's only gathering spot, Le Crystal.

Combining notes of leather, musk, florals, herbs, smoke, and spice; a versatile scent that appeals to all genders.

Kismet Olfactive is a New York City-based independent fragrance studio founded by bohemian-perfumer Shabnam Tavakol.

Born and raised in California, Shabnam—Farsi for “morning dew”—is the daughter of Iranian-immigrant parents who escaped the violent 1979 Revolution in Iran, relocating to the U.S. by way of hard-won efforts and a string of good fortune.

Recognizing this fortuitous past, Kismet—from the Persian qismat, meaning “fate,” or, “what is meant to be”—translates the serendipitous moments that make up our lives into wearable scents.

Kismet fragrances are made by hand in small batches, are unfiltered, and contain a high concentration of natural raw materials—therefore, some cloudiness or sediment may occur.
